GAICC may suspend or withdraw a certification. This protects the integrity of the credential and the people who rely on it. Every decision is made impartially and may be appealed.
Suspension
Suspension is temporary. During suspension the certification is not valid, must not be claimed, and the certification mark must not be used. Verification will show the credential as suspended.
| Typical grounds for suspension | Route back |
|---|---|
| Recertification/CPD requirements not met by the due date | Provide compliant CPD evidence within the defined period |
| Incorrect or misleading use of the certificate or marks | Correct the misuse and confirm in writing |
| An unresolved investigation into conduct or eligibility evidence | Conclusion of the investigation in the holder's favour |
| Non-payment of applicable fees | Settle outstanding fees |
Withdrawal
Withdrawal is permanent for that certification cycle. The certificate must be returned or destroyed and all claims removed. Typical grounds include:
- Failure to resolve the cause of a suspension within the defined period
- Falsified training, education or experience evidence, or impersonation at examination
- Serious or repeated misuse of the certificate, logo or certification mark
- Serious professional misconduct materially relevant to the certification
- Voluntary surrender by the certified person
