These rules apply to every GAICC examination. They exist to make sure each candidate is assessed under the same fair, secure conditions.
Before the examination
- Your application and training evidence must be accepted before you can book.
- Have government-issued photo identification ready — identity is verified before the exam starts.
- Check your equipment, camera, microphone and connection in advance for online AI-proctored delivery.
- Request any reasonable adjustment when you apply, not on exam day.
During the examination
Conditions
- Closed book unless the Candidate Handbook states otherwise
- A quiet, private, well-lit room; no other people present
- No phones, smart devices, notes or second screens
- No leaving the camera's view except as permitted
Proctoring
- Sessions are monitored by AI-assisted proctoring with human review of flagged events
- AI is used as a decision-support tool only — a human makes any final integrity decision
- Recordings are retained under our privacy notice
Misconduct
The following are treated as examination misconduct:
- Impersonation, or having another person present or assisting
- Using unauthorised material, devices or software
- Copying, photographing, reproducing, memorising for disclosure, or sharing examination content
- Disclosing or seeking live examination items before or after the exam
- Falsifying training, education or experience evidence
Confirmed misconduct may void your result, forfeit fees, bar you from future examinations for a defined period, and — where you are already certified — lead to suspension or withdrawal. Decisions may be appealed.
Results and re-takes
Results are scored objectively against the published pass mark, which is set by subject-matter experts through a modified-Angoff standard-setting study. Candidates receive their outcome with domain-level feedback. Re-take terms are published in each Candidate Handbook; a waiting period may apply between attempts.
Examination integrity
GAICC owns and controls all examination content. No training provider — including GAICC's own course team — has access to live examination items. Item banks are reviewed, refreshed and psychometrically analysed on a published cycle.
