What counts as CPD

Professional learning

Structured courses, webinars and conferences relevant to the credential — from any provider, not only GAICC.

Practical application

Implementing, auditing or governing management systems in practice; project and engagement work.

Contribution & knowledge sharing

Speaking, publishing, mentoring, standards or research contribution.

Elective activities

Self-directed study, reading and professional community participation.

As with initial certification, CPD is provider-neutral. Activities delivered by GAICC carry no advantage over equivalent activities from any other provider.

How to renew

  1. Record your CPD as you goKeep evidence — certificates, attendance records, publications, or attestation letters.
  2. Submit a renewal applicationBefore your expiry date, with your CPD record and the applicable renewal fee.
  3. Verification and auditGAICC reviews submissions and conducts periodic CPD audits to confirm the accuracy of reported activities.
  4. Renewed for a further three yearsYour credential and verification record are updated. Where CPD is insufficient, re-examination may be required.

Lapsed certifications may be reinstated within a defined grace period, or by re-examination thereafter. Full requirements are in each Candidate Handbook and GAICC's Recertification Policy.
